Acceptable Use Policy

This policy defines acceptable use of the Run-Fi platform and the responsibilities of organisations and users with API access.
1. Who This Applies To
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all organisations and individuals with access to the Run-Fi platform, including:
- Organisations with active Run-Fi subscriptions or commercial agreements
- Authorised users within those organisations who have API keys or login credentials
- Third-party service providers acting on behalf of a customer organisation
- Evaluation users during trial or proof-of-concept periods
By accessing the Run-Fi platform, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of access.
2. Permitted Use
Run-Fi is designed for the following purposes:
- Reconciling financial transactions that your organisation has the legal right to process
- Matching transaction records across banks, payment processors, and blockchain networks
- Generating audit trails and exception reports for transactions processed by your organisation
- Exporting reconciled data for integration with your organisation's accounting or financial systems
- Evaluating the platform during authorised trial or proof-of-concept periods
You are responsible for ensuring that all data submitted to Run-Fi is data that you have the legal right to process under applicable laws and regulations.
3. Prohibited Use
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
a. Unauthorised Data Processing
You may not submit or process data that:
- You do not have legal rights to process
- Belongs to third parties without proper authorisation
- Violates privacy, data protection, or financial regulations
b. Illegal Activity
You may not use Run-Fi to:
- Facilitate fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes
- Circumvent financial regulations or reporting requirements
- Process transactions on behalf of sanctioned entities or in prohibited jurisdictions
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
c. Reverse Engineering and Misuse
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the Run-Fi platform
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices or identifiers
- Attempt to circumvent security controls or access restrictions
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform without prior authorisation (see our Security and Compliance page for responsible disclosure)
d. Service Abuse
You may not:
- Exceed API rate limits or attempt to overwhelm the service with excessive requests
- Submit malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
- Use the platform to attack, disrupt, or interfere with other users or systems
- Share API keys or credentials with unauthorised parties
4. API Rate Limits and Fair Use
To ensure fair access and platform stability, Run-Fi enforces API rate limits and fair use policies:
- Standard API rate limits are defined in your commercial agreement or API documentation
- Sustained usage patterns that significantly exceed typical customer activity may be subject to review
- Requests that trigger rate limits will receive a clear error response with retry guidance
- Enterprise customers may request higher rate limits through their account manager
Specific rate limits and fair-use thresholds are set out in your commercial agreement and API documentation.
Run-Fi reserves the right to throttle or temporarily suspend access if usage patterns indicate abuse or pose a risk to platform stability.
5. Monitoring
Run-Fi monitors platform usage for the following purposes:
- Security: Detecting unauthorised access, suspicious activity, and potential security incidents
- Abuse prevention: Identifying violations of this Acceptable Use Policy
- Service quality: Ensuring platform stability and availability for all customers
- Compliance: Meeting regulatory and legal obligations
Monitoring is conducted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement. We do not access customer transaction data for purposes beyond those outlined in our agreements.
If monitoring detects activity that violates this policy or poses a security risk, Run-Fi may investigate further and take appropriate action as outlined in the "Consequences of Violation" section.
6. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in the following actions:
a. Warning
For minor or first-time violations that do not pose a significant risk, Run-Fi may issue a warning and request that the violating activity cease immediately.
b. Suspension
For serious violations or repeated infractions, Run-Fi may temporarily suspend API access or platform functionality. Suspension may be immediate if the violation poses a security risk or potential harm to other customers.
c. Termination
For severe violations, including illegal activity, fraud, or wilful abuse of the platform, Run-Fi may terminate your organisation's access immediately. Termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid.
d. Legal Action
Run-Fi reserves the right to pursue legal action for violations that cause harm to Run-Fi, other customers, or third parties, or that violate applicable laws. This may include cooperation with law enforcement and regulatory authorities.
e. Reporting
If we detect activity that may violate financial regulations or laws, we may be required to report that activity to relevant authorities, including financial regulators, law enforcement, or data protection authorities.
